{featured blog...I heart naptime}

I am delighted to have Jamielyn, from I heart naptime with us today! She has such a darling blog, and I'm so glad she's here to share with us this fun, summer project.

Hello Brown Paper Package Readers!!

I'm excited to share with you a fun and easy summer project!

Summer Blocks!

First you'll need a 2x4 piece of wood. I have Lowe's cut mine for free. Then bring them home and sand them smooth.

Next is to paint your blocks! I ran out of a few colors, so I had to get creative and start mixing! I just used a sponge brush.

When the letters were dry I put on the vinyl and added some white paint around the edges. I tried a few different ways, and the EASIEST way to do this is with a sponge brush.

Here is a block with the distressed edge, and one without. I like it better with! Also, don't worry about it looking perfect...sometimes I do that a little too much!

Next I added a fun wood piece. If you have wood glue and more patience you may want to use that... ;)

I took some thick wire and wrapped it around a pencil, then hot glued it to the back.

I was going to drill a hole, but decided my wire was too I nailed a hole and stuck the sun in.

So there they are all completed on my new craft desk!! What do you think?!

Here it is with flip flops! :)

Hope you are enjoying your Summer!!

*Don't forget to come by and say hi and join us for our Sundae Scoop party. It is up Sat-Mon & enter your projects here*

Thanks for having me today!!

Thanks so much, Jamielyn! Those blocks are darling!
