{poor man s'mores}

I don't know about your house, but we love, love, love S'mores! Almost every weekend we have a campfire in our backyard, and many times we'll roast marshmallows to make them. We have tried several variations, including our favorite--using Reese's Peanut Butter Cups in place of the chocolate bars.

I love this idea of making them, too. They are super yummy, and only require two ingredients. If you don't have chocolate in the house, or if you're looking for a simpler, less expensive way to make them, this is the ticket! Going camping? Think about these instead--they would be perfect!

The only ingredients you need? Fudge striped cookies (I used generic brand), and marshmallows! Just use the cookies in place of the graham crackers and chocolate, and you have a simple, delicious, campfire treat.

So tell me, what's your favorite way to eat S'mores?

P.S. Thank you so much for all your input on my foyer ledge! I am LOVING all the ideas!

What a great idea... I've just always made them traditionally. Can you believe I have a friend that had never made them? I didn't know this, and asked her to bring the stuff to make them for a bonfire. She brought chocolate chips and miniature marshmallows. I never laughed so hard....

What a great idea. We love smores at our house also. I actually put a post up a few weeks ago about indoor smores. Your kids would love it.

Walmart brand chocolate covered graham crackers make wonderful smores! They're the perfect size. They're delicious,and they're cheap.

What a great idea! Getting the chocolate and graham crackers all laid out in the dark is always such a pain when we're camping. . . fudge cookies are an inspiration :]

lol I did have to laugh at the title because honestly I'm such a cheapskate graham crackers are cheap and my kids get a tiny square of chocolate! So my first thought instead of poor man smores was lazy man smores! BUt I have to admit my fav is the choco covered grahams you can get at Wally's. My only problem is that then I just want to eat the cookies!

Genius!! I don't really like graham crackers, so I usually abstain from eating s'mores. I am so trying this version this summer!!

This is one of those awesome ideas I wished I had thought of myself. I made these and wrote about them here. I think I like this version even better than the traditional chocolate bar and graham cracker version.
