{pumpkin truffles}

If you've ever had Oreo Truffles, you know how yummy they are. If you haven't, then you must run--not walk--to your kitchen to make them. Not only are they totally delicious, but they are simple to make, and there are a million variations. My favorite is mint Oreos with milk chocolate---SO good. You can also use Nutter Butter cookies in place of the Oreos for a peanut butter and chocolate version. You really can't go wrong!

These truffles are also really fun to dress up for the holidays. Last year, my friend made them into little ghosts for a Halloween party, dipping them in white chocolate, and using mini chocolate chips for the eyes, and they were darling. This year, I happened to be reading a magazine (I can't remember which one, so if you do, please let me know!) and saw darling pumpkins with a pretzel for a stem. I knew that I could replicate them using the Oreo truffle recipe, and thought they would be perfect for any Halloween or fall parties.

For the original Oreo Truffles recipe, click HERE. I dipped the balls into orange Wilton candy melts that I bought at Michaels, but you could also use white chocolate colored with orange food coloring. Actually, I would probably do that next time. I found the candy melts to be a little on the thick side, which made it more difficult to get a smooth surface. Combine that with stems that are actually broken ABC pretzels (that's all I had), and the little helpers in the kitchen with me, and I figured I would go for the rustic look. :)

Happy October!

Yummy!! I can't wait to try these (seems similar to Red Velvet Truffles & family loves those). Great idea to make them pumpkins--love the rustic look, too! Made your pumpkin bracelets for my granddaughters and posted them with a link to you on my blog. Hope that is okay! The girls LOVED them!!
