{candy countdown}

My cute and creative friend Erica, from Snippets of Wonderful is also my running buddy. She came over yesterday for our 19 miler, and brought me this darling candy countdown to our marathon on May 28th.

I {love} it. What a fun way to countdown...to anything! Vacations, birthdays, races, last day of school, first day of school--you name it! She used a tiny little tupperware that had a lid, but this would also be a great way to recycle some small plastic containers you might have around the house.

What a wonderful idea! My friends & I just signed up for the Warrior Dash. We ususally run the Hood to Coast relay, but our team did not get choosen in the lottery. We are doing the Warrior Dash instead and when it gets close (Sept 11th) we will be using this countdown.

Thank you, thank you!! My husband is retiring soon and we were talking about the "countdown" yesterday. I wanted to make something he would enjoy and this is just perfect!!!

I love this idea! I would love to know if you have any other cute ideas or sites for runners (I too am a runner and just did the So Cal Ragnar relay for the first time). I was going to make up a race day "survival kit" but couldn't come up with anything. Maybe a labled water bottle or energy bar wrapped up. Here's something I'll share with you...it's a husband "thank you for your support" during our teams Ragnar...it could be applied to any runner, like you doing your Marathon.

You know your wife is a (Ragnar, Marathon) runner if...
1) ...she uses phrases like "10 mile" and "easy run" in the same breath
2) ...she spends more on training clothes than dress clothes
3) ...she has chafing in strange places
4) ...your Saturday mornings for the rest of your life are ruined
5) ...she says "Not tonight honey, I'm on the Ragnar"

Good luck to you on your Marathon! P.S. I found your blog through my friend's blog, "Simple Things". Thanks for all you post:)

Tracy--I LOVE that!! Not only are they funny, but totally true. My husband is also a runner (and running the marathon as well), so we can say them to each other. :)

I'm so glad you found me through Simple Things--I love that girl!

Jennyfer--The Hood to Coast sounds so fun...maybe one day I'll try it too!

What a darling idea! I'm going to do this for myself. I am heading back to Utah to visit my family in August and I am dying with excitement. Good luck on your marathon! I just got into running and I'm hoping to be able to run my first 5k in September.

I love running! I did a marathon last year and Ragnar, but then got pregnant and had my baby and am just getting back into it. When I was training I loved to hear about other people's marathon experiences. (As long as they weren't like, "You are gonna die!") So, if you are interested...here's where you can read mine: http://devinandruthannfamily.blogspot.com/2010/01/marathon-day.html
