{featured guest...a little of this, a little of that}

Hey Ya'll! I'm Sarah from A Little of This, a Little of That.

A few things about me...

  • I'm a full time stay at home mom of two, with one on the way! I try to soak up all the time I can with my children. I feel like they are growing up much faster than I want!

  • I live in a small Texas town, and love it! As a native Texan, all I can say is, Texas rocks!

  • And of course, I love to CRAFT, Decorate, and Sew!

Over at my blog, you'll find home decor crafts, DIY projects, sewing and much more. I would love for you to stop by!

I have made many burp cloths over the years. This is the easiest kind for me to make for new mommies-to-be, and thought you might like my quick and easy tutorial!
--
(if you can sew a straight line, you can make these!)

.....
Supplies Needed:

Fabric in two coordinating colors
Sewing machine
Scissors
Ruler

(told you this would be easy!)

Step 1. Cut out your fabric into 11x16" rectangles. (one of each fabric)

Step 2. Pin RIGHT sides together.

Tip: when sewing with minky fabric, pin the heck out of it! It will keep the fabric from moving, and will look great when done!

Step 3. Sew all four sides, leaving a small opening to turn it right side out.

Step 4. Turn your burp cloth right side out.

Step 5. Top stitch all the way around your burp cloth, making sure to tuck in the "hole" you left for turning.

DONE!

A few more cute burp cloths:

Thanks so much Sarah, for this simple step-by-step tutorial. And the minky fabric? Fabulous. It's one of my favorites. You can never have enough burp cloths, and now you can have adorable ones--perfect for any baby in your life!

I am new to sewing and think I could totally make this, but am curious- What kind of fabric can you use to make these? Does it really matter?

@CAM: You can use annnnnny kind of fabric to make these. I've used cotton, flannel, terrycloth, minky fabric, and chenille. It really doesn't matter! Just use lots of pins if you use minky or chenille. It will slide around less!
