I've resisted Pinterest.  Until now.

At first it was just one more thing to keep me on the computer, but from a purely organizational standpoint, it is fabulous, and I finally gave in. See a project you really want to do?  Love a kitchen that you see? Find gift ideas you want to remember?  Instead of bookmarking a link, you "pin" the picture (and link) to one of any boards, or categories you've set up.  I {LOVE} it. It even rivals pages torn from magazines and placed in a binder--which I still do and love--but it's just one more way to have everything in front of your eyes, nice and neat.-

Many times I've bookmarked different things, and than I've totally forgotten they are there. Not with Pinterest--it's all laid out right in front of you, and is so easily accessible.  You can do your own thing and set up your own Pinterest account, or you can also follow others' accounts--see what they've pinned, and then repin them to one of your own boards.

I've only been pinning for a few days, but it's already easier to find things I love...

Happy pinning!

I am loving Pinterest. Right now I am planning a baby shower and Pinterest has been the perfect way to keep track and find inspiration! I smiled when I saw your Ice Cream Parlour pin because I have pinned the exact same thing (I think it is perfect for a baby shower in late July). You have great taste!

Me too! I think if you are a visual person then this is THE METHOD of organizing all your images and ideas from blogs and websites. I normally tear pages out of magazines and stuff them into files never to be seen again. Now - poof- there it all is before my very eyes and with little to no effort.

Great post!

I just wrote a post about Pinterest today as well. I totally agree with you from the organizational stand point. I had resisted up until recently as well, but now spend way too much time on there. It is just so fun to be inspired!

I also resisted, I used Delicious as my bookmarking tool and used my flickr to save DIY and design inspirations but once I saw the benefit of being able to see the pictures and have them link to the original post I was SOLD. I spend way too much time one there.

I would love to join, but for some reason nothing happens???? I fill in my email address and click on request invitation and nothing. I've got tons of bookmarks and this sounds so promising to organize them!

I love pintrest... I'm a "repinner" though and I know that makes a lot of bloggers mad...but I have to go visit the original blog to get the directions and if I make a project or really like something I end up surfing the original blog for ages. Have fun!!

I totally agree, I've been doing it for about a week now {since I got my tonsils out} and I feel like all my thoughts and ideas are so much more organized. I have found so many projects to do once I totally recover. I love it!! I'm gonna follow you :)

I love Pinterest! Have been pinning about 2 months now -- but find I should really set a timer or I spend too much time pinning things.

I know what you mean! I just joined the other day-I too was avoiding it, but then decided that it condenses like three other organization things I have going into one. I don't even care if anyone follows me!

I've used evernote for about 2 years. It's kind of the same thing-you can clip photos or any piece of any article and save it by tagging it with whatever category you name it to. You can also scan anything (like a receipt) or save things from emails into it too. I think the main difference is that it's a private board-others don't see your account. I use it for ed. ideas and piano ideas and church ideas, etc. So I can't decide if I want to make the switch....or just use them for different things? It's an awesome concept and has saved my skin many times!
