{scribble shop craft challenge} quiet books

I was recently asked to join a few other bloggers to participate in a craft challenge. We were to receive a random box of supplies from Scribble Shop and make something using as many products as possible.  I was excited to try something a little different, so I jumped on board.

Here's what came in my box: 

Supplies:  feathers, chalboard paint, glitter brads, glitter, blue and green roving, and fabric squares.

I added a few more supplies--plastic name badges, ribbon, bulldog clips, and book rings--to come up with three fun projects!

I have to admit that the feathers threw me off at first, but my two year old boys served as inspiration for this feather color quiet book.  I stuffed a different color of feather into plastic name badge holders, slid them on a book ring, and added some ribbon--ta da!

This next project was inspired by my five year old girls, who are always with me in the car doing errands, and who often are looking for something to keep them busy while waiting. I used the chalkboard paint to create a mini chalkboard on each fabric square. I needed a place to keep the chalk, so on one piece of fabric I used hot glue and velcro to make a little pouch for it.

It tucks easily into my purse or diaper bag, making it a fun travel quiet book.

I stumbled onto this last project by accident, and I LOVE it! I discovered that the large glitter brads fit perfectly into the hole on a magnetic bulldog clip (that I spray painted cream), giving it a whole new, fabulous look!  I now have a whole set that are perfect on my magnet board in the kitchen.  Super easy, and so fun!
