{vtech kids switch & go dinos: product review}

I was recently asked to review a new VtechKids product, or rather, my boys were.  :)  Just opening the box was exciting for them, but when they saw the Switch & Go Dinos  Silver, The T-Rex Dino and Horns, The Triceratops Dino, it was all over. My hubby literally could not get them out of their boxes fast enough, and my boys fell in love with them immediately.  They are actually clutching them in their beds right now, fast asleep!

The  Switch & Go Dinos are the perfect combination, easily transforming from race car to roaring dinosaur. I wondered at first about my boys' ability to do the transformation on their own, but I was happy to see that it was no problem for them, which means happy boys...and a happy mom.  :)  They especially loved two of the features--the LCD screen that lets kids customize the animation, either dinosaur eyes or driver faces, depending on which form it's in.  It also has the best sound effects, which really bring the toy to life. The car revs its engine, and the dinosaur roars its terrible roar--both of which totally captivated my boys. It's like getting two toys in one!

  

Another really fun thing about the Switch & Go Dinos, is that when it's in dinosaur mode, the action button triggers interesting facts about dinosaurs--everything from how many teeth it has, to what its tail and legs are used for. I'm a huge fan of toys that kids love to play with, and can learn from at the same time. It was so fun to hear my little boys repeat back what they heard! My girls are 6 years old, and were really wanting their own turn with them as well! (No such luck---not yet, anyway!)  It really appeals to such a great age range, and I think it's in large part to the educational aspect. Seriously, it's already a favorite at our house, and I have a feeling it's going to stay that way!
